‘All My Children’ and ‘One Life to Live’ Go Online — Do The Un-Canceled Soaps Hold Up?

Credit: Hulu

Just as so many soap opera characters have met untimely demises only to be brought back to existence through the miracles of witchcraft, brain transplants, and identical twin-related hijinks, the recently axed series All My Children and One Life to Live have found new life online. After spending more than 40 years on the air, each of the two long-running daytime series were cut (in 2011 and 2012, respectively), leaving devoted viewers with a gaping hole in their afternoon distractions. But the Internet — that dear, sweet friend of ours — has delivered on the promise to revive both soap programs, finally launching the pilots of the revamped All My Children and One Life to Live.

With so many years behind them and so many twists, turns, and face-slaps embroidering each week over the past four decades, we’ve seen a good deal of changes take on the complex worlds of AMC and oLTL. These new incarnations will only offer more differences, including some new cast members. But this doesn’t necessarily mean that the revived series will be abandoning their old spirit — check out the pilots below, and let us know if the shows hold up to their original forms.
