‘American Idol’ Results: Stefano Goes Home

S10E29: My Idol prediction was finally accurate (though it’s been my prediction for the past three weeks, so there’s really no victory in it for me). Last night, Haley Reinhart, Jacob Lusk, and Stefano Langone were in the bottom three. Haley only had to endure a few measly seconds in the hot seat before Ryan Seacrest sent her right back to the safe couch. Before he announced that Stefano had been voted off this week, he delayed the expected news with a performance of E.T. from Katy Perry. It’s almost stupid how excited I got that she was performing that song (because I love it way too much) and what’s even stupider is how stoked I got when Kanye West showed up in the middle of the song. The reason I bring this up is because, at this point, we’ve been expecting Stefano to be the next one voted off that it wasn’t even surprising or exciting or (as much as he seems like a great guy) all that sad. He’s the logical next person to go home. That’s why I doubt I was the only one who was more worried about figuring out how Perry’s alien costume worked than trying to figure out if Jacob would be going home.

Even so, Stefano seems like a great guy. He’s been through a lot in his life and he can definitely sing. He just doesn’t belong on this show anymore. Here’s his last performance, where it seems that he really understood that too.

And also, because it’s fun: Katy Perry and Kanye West.
