What runner-up? It seems Jessica Sanchez is gearing up to replace being on one major hit Fox show with another. TV Line reports that the American Idol Season 11 contestant is close to nearing a deal to join Glee‘s fourth season in a multi-episode arc. Music to our ears!
There’s no word yet about what role Ryan Murphy would give her in the upcoming season, but now that we’ve said goodbye to some of our favorite McKinley High seniors, there’s bound to be some new talent to fill their place. And, as many Idol watchers can attest to, this 16-year-old superstar certainly fits the bill.
Allegedly the plan is to have Sanchez join the cast midway through the first half of the season, after she completes her duties on the Idols Live summer tour. Presumably, though, Sanchez’s character would being competing for solos alongside the show’s already existing bevy of talented vocalists. Perhaps Rachel Berry will finally meet her match at the New York Academy for the Dramatic Arts? Sanchez certainly knows how to face-off with a fellow diva.
If the Glee deal is completed, this will be Sanchez’s third time on primetime television since she also appeared as a contestant on NBC’s America’s Got Talent back in 2006.
