And So It Begins– ABC’s TGIT Winter Premiere Is Delayed Because Of Donald Trump

Apparently, ABC feels like someone will be interested in a pre-inauguration special about Donald Trump and his family, instead of a fictional world which is infinitely better than what we will be dealing with for the next four years. ABC has pushed back the return dates for How To Get Away With Murder, Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy because of a one-hour special, America’s First Family: The Trumps Go to Washington, which is set to air on Thursday, January 19th at 10PM ET.

As a result, we won’t be seeing our beloved Olivia Pope, Meredith Grey or Annalise Keating for another full week. ABC’s TGIT winter premiere has been moved to Thursday, January 26th. ABC promised us beautiful things with iconic teaser trailers that declared, “Yeah, we kind of left you hanging last year,” but apparently, they are going to string us along for yet another week. We’re not sure why this obviously last minute decision was pushed through. (Who is really tuning in to see a racist, misogynist, narcissist and his family over Scandal?!) But all we can say is we aren’t here for it.  If you’re thrilled about America’s First Family: The Trumps Go to Washington then good for you, we just can’t see how it’s going to help ABC’s ratings which faltered this past fall on Thursdays without Scandal in the mix. Donnie isn’t even the POTUS yet and he’s already taking away our favorite things.

TGIT will officially return Thursday, Jan. 26, with Grey’s Anatomy at 8 p.m. ET, Scandal at 9 p.m. ET and How to Get Away with Murder at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
