Angel Baby singer dies at 71

Sixties singer Rosalie Hamlin has passed away at the age of 71.
The Rosie and the Originals frontwoman, who suffered from muscle pain disorder fibromyalgia, died in her sleep on Thursday (30Mar17), according to a statement released by her daughter.
Hamlin rose to fame with the pop group and scored a big hit with the band’s debut single, Angel Baby, in 1960.
Rosie and the Originals released a handful of other tracks, including Why Did You Leave Me, Lonely Blue Nights, and You’re No Good, but they failed to replicate the popularity of Angel Baby, which has since become a classic, covered by the likes of Linda Ronstadt and the late John Lennon.
The group was featured in the 1995 Jimmy Smits film My Family, in which Hamlin was portrayed by Jeanette Jurado.
