Synopsis

In February 1999, in Sylacauga, Alabama, 30-year-old computer programmer Bill Jack Gaither was murdered, the victim of a violent hate crime. The accused killer, a known white supremicist, testified that he killed Gaither because he was "queer." The program examines the roots of homophobia in the United States and probes the attitudes, beliefs and fears that have fueled anti-gay hate crimes in the 1990s.
