Synopsis

Documentary that explores what went wrong on the fateful day in April 1961 when America lost its first and most humiliating battle against Communism. Forty years after the Bay of Pigs fiasco, declassified documents reveal the untold story and how it impacted future covert operations, the Cuban Missile crisis and current U.S. relations with Castro's Cuba. Included are details of the CIA Inspector General's report, kept secret for over 35 years; Cuban propaganda films reenacting the invasion; audio tapes secretly recorded by the Kennedy White House; various assassination schemes hatched to remove Castro; and documents that show that the CIA blamed itself, not President Kennedy, for the failure of the invasion.
