Bounty Hunters: Relentless Pursuers | 1998
Documentary about the bounty hunters who slip through the cracks of law enforcement, hired to track down criminals who have jumped bail. They got their start in medieval England, and have been protected by a Supreme Court ruling for 150 years in the U.S. One of the first and most famous bounty hunters was Edward Bonney, who made a reputation and fortune tracking down outlaws and bringing them back dead or alive. During the Civil War, bounty hunters were hired to track down runaway slaves. Today, bounty hunters account for over 22,000 fugitive arrests a year.
