Arrow star Stephen Amell said it perfectly in his tweet: “Best way to start a Monday? Getting picked up for your back nine episodes. Thwick.”
That’s right, lovers of archery and Amell’s abs take on Oliver Queen, rejoice! The CW has picked up Arrow for a full 22-episode first season.
This back nine pickup comes as no surprise after the premiere opened with strong ratings – over 4.02 million viewers and a 1.3 demo rating, making it the CW’s highest-rated drama since 2010. It was also the CW’s most watched series premiere since megahit The Vampire Diaries debuted back in 2009. And week two’s episode only saw a decrease of 15 percent in total viewers (to 3.5 million), maintaining most of its audience.
