Camila Cabello brings dad to tears with emotional Grammys tribute

Camila Cabello left her dad in tears at the Grammys on Sunday night (January 26, 2020) as she paid a touching musical tribute to him.

Alejandro Cabello was the Havana singer’s date to music’s big night as Camila and her boyfriend, Shawn Mendes, arrived separately and his daughter had a big surprise planned for him.

Home video of the singer and her dad played onstage at the Staples Center in Los Angeles as she performed First Man with Alejandro seated in the first row.

Wiping tears away as his daughter sang directly to him, he stood to embrace her as the song ended.

Cabello’s was one of many performance highlights at the Grammys – the show opened with Lizzo and also featured sets from the Jonas Brothers, Lil Nas X, Aerosmith and Run-DMC, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, and Billie Eilish, while Usher stunned with a pitch-perfect tribute to Prince, during which he was joined onstage by FKA Twigs and Sheila E.

There were two other star-studded get-togethers – DJ Khaled, John Legend, Roddy Ricch, YG, and Meek Mill fronted an uplifting tribute to slain Los Angeles rapper Nipsey Hussle, while rap veteran Nas joined his namesake, Lil Nas X, Diplo, BTS and Billy Ray Cyrus for a rendition of 2019 megahit Old Town Road.
