HBO’s upcoming biopic Hemingway & Gellhorn, starring Clive Owen and Nicole Kidman as Ernest Hemingway and his love interest and eventual wife Martha Gellhorn, has found its supporting cast — and there’s quite a few names here.
Take a deep breath, because this is going to be long. Recent Emmy-winner David Strathairn will play Hemingway’s friend John Dos Passos with Rordigo Santoro as his other friend, Zarra. Molly Parker is Hemingway’s second wife Pauline and Parker Posey joins as the author’s fourth wife. Lars Ulrich is the Dutch documentarian, Joris Ivens, and Santiago Cabrera is the war photographer, Robert Capa. Saverio Guerro is Hemingway’s friend Sidney Franklin with Peter Coyote as his editor Maxwell Perkins. Diane Baker will play Martha’s mother. And finally, Tony Shalhoub stars as a Russian journalist.
And exhale. Quite the list, eh? Hemingway & Gellhorn will premiere next year, so you’ll have to wait till then to actually put a face with whatever names on this list that made you say, “Who?”
