Casting Roundup: ‘Glee’ Lends an Actor to ‘The Good Wife’

Jonathan GroffGlee fans might not be too keen on Jesse St. James after he betrayed and humiliated Rachel and fought with Finn at the prom. But Jesse’s portrayer Jonathan Groff is another story—and his fan base is about to extend to the audiences of The Good Wife. Groff is set to appear on an episode of CBS’ drama as a plaintiff in a case against an allegedly corrupt software company. The case will be linked to the disappearance of Groff’s character’s sister, a political activist. Groff will appear on the fifteenth episode of the current third season. The Good Wife airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. –TVLine

Speaking of noteworthy Jesses, the creator of 1980s earworm “Jesse’s Girl” is finding his way onto television this season. Musician Rick Springfield will be enjoying a guest stint on TVLand’s Hot in Cleveland, wherein he’ll be playing himself…but incognito. The in-universe Springfield will escape to Cleveland to live a quiet life as an average joe named Tom. But that doesn’t mean he’s opposed to romance—Springfield’s character will reportedly find himself on a date with Jane Leeves’ character Joy. This will mark the second time in recent years that Sprinfield has played a satirical verison of himself on a TV series—the prior being on Californication. This news comes after yesterday’s announcement that Liza Minelli would also be appearing on the series. Hot in Cleveland airs tonight at 10 p.m. ET/PT on TVLand. –TVGuide

House is finding a guest star in Michael B. Jordan, of Friday Night Lights and The Wire fame. Jordan will pay a visit to Hugh Laurie’s doc on the fourteenth episode of the current eighth season as a blind hospital patient. This follows Jordan’s stint on the NBC dramedy Parenthood. Between this abundance of television work and his two upcoming films, Chronicle and Red Tails, Michael B. Jordan might not have to live in the shadow of his namesake for much logner. House airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox. –TVLine
