Casting Roundup: ‘Modern Family,’ ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘House’ Stars Branch Out

Eric StonestreetGood news for those who are already shaking with excitement over the arrival of Fall TV: we have a new roundup of guest stars for the coming television season.

Eric Stonestreet, one of Modern Family‘s Emmy-nominated populous (he plays scene-stealer Cam) will have a guest role on the new FX series American Horror Story, created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk (Glee, Nip/Tuck). Stonestreet will play a patient to the psychiatrist hero Dr. Ben Harmon (star Dylan McDermott) who has a phobic fixation on urban legends, specifically the “Pigman” (I hope this isn’t the only of the Horror Stories that is vaguely reminiscent of Seinfeld). –EW

Dean Norris will bring his badass lawman to ABC’s Castle. Norris has played Hank Schrader, DEA Agent and brother in law of secret meth mastermind Walter White (Bryan Cranston) on the unstoppable Breaking Bad; and for each of the series’ four years, Norris’ Hank has been one of the most engrossing characters. He’ll play a hostage negotiator in an episode of Castle that sees star Nathan Fillion in a tight situation. This should be good. –TVLine

Though he’s not an actor in the strictest terms, Billy Ray Cyrus will be joining 90210 in a guest role. Cyrus will play Judd Ridge (it’s already fitting), a country music star, and father of Austin, who has been introduced as a love interest for the Annalynne McCord’s Naomi. –EW

Finally, we have the jack of all trades. Jack Coleman, memorable to Heroes fans as Noah “H.R.G.” Bennett, will enjoy two guest spots, one on the CW’s Vampire Diaries and CBS’ Criminal Minds. He will also be returning to The Office as Angela’s presumably gay state-senator boyfriend. –TVLine
