‘Criminal Minds’ May Have Found Thomas Gibson’s Replacement(s)

Ever since Thomas Gibson got himself booted from Criminal Minds, fans have been wondering who could possibly fill his shoes. Gibson’s been a staple of the show since it premiered in 2005, and it’s hard to imagine the series without him. Alas, the show must go on — and let’s be honest, as long as Matthew Gray Gubler is still there, we’ll still be watching.

According to reports from TVLine, producers are looking to add two newcomers to take Gibson’s place. Hopefully none of these new actors are in the habit of kicking writers (or maybe the writers have started wearing shin guards to work, who knows?). One of the characters is supposed to take Hotch’s place as the new BAU team leader, but the other role is still to be determined. What could it be? Please say a love interest for MGG! Please let that love interest actually be us.

CBS hasn’t officially commented about any new additions to the cast because they’re probably still trying to figure out exactly what’s going on. It’s only been a couple of weeks since Gibson kicked a writer and was suspended from the show. The suspension must have went swimmingly because shortly after, Hotch was booted from the series for good.

Gibson has since addressed his anger issues (sort of) by spewing out a weak apology regarding “creative differences.” Because creative differences definitely warrant assault.

In true Criminal Minds fashion, here’s a quote that maybe Hotch should have thought about before he decided to go around kicking people on set.

“You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.” – Buddha
