Kelly Clarkson is returning to American Idol on April 11 to perform People Like Us

Kelly Clarkson is returning to her roots — the singing superstar is headed back to the place where she got her start, American Idol, to perform her new single.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Clarkson will sing “People Like Us” for the “first time ever” on the April 11 results show. The very first American Idol winner returned to the show that made her famous for a duet of “Don’t You Want to Stay” with Jason Aldean in 2011.

Clarkson is promoting her new album Greatest Hits: Chapter One, which features some of the singer’s biggest singles in addition to two new ones, “People Like Us” and “Catch My Breath.” She’s hitting the road for a tour with Maroon 5this summer.
