After answering Scott's plea for help, Jackson "went to war" against the U.S. Marine Corps and proceeded to enlist the help of the top criminal law firm in town, dig up missing witnesses and single-handedly bring the trial to the attention of national media outlets including "60 Minutes." During the process. Jackson was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer, and though see was fighting for her life, she never stopped fighting for Scott's rights.
