DEA investigating Lil Peep’s death – report

Authorities at America’s Drug Enforcement Adminstration (DEA) have reportedly joined the police investigation into rapper Lil Peep’s death.
The hip-hop star’s body was found on his tour bus before a concert in Tucson, Arizona in November (17), and toxicology tests revealed he had cocktail of opioid fentanyl and alprazolam, the medical term for Xanax, in his system at the time of his death.
Tucson Police Department began an investigation shortly following the 21-year-old’s death, after discovering messages allegedly sent by a fan named Mariah Bons who saw him just before he died, and DEA officials are also now on the case.
According to TMZ.com, DEA agents will assist local authorities in Tucson with the main objective of finding out who provided the drug. They have reportedly been focusing heavily on the country’s opioid problem and even got involved after iconic singer Prince died from a fentanyl overdose in April, 2016.
The authorities are reportedly interested in texts from Bons because she allegedly went to his tour bus and saw him shortly before he died. She also apparently texted a friend saying, “GBC (Goth Boy Clique, a rap collective Peep belonged to) high af (as f**k) because of me and my friend lol (laugh out loud).”
Another message read, “He (Peep) passed the f**k out my brother called and I tried to get him to say hi to my brother but he wouldn’t wake up…”
The death of Peep, real name Gustav Ahr, was ruled an accidental overdose by the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner.
