The musical adaptation of epic romance Doctor Zhivago is heading to Broadway. The production, based on the 1957 Boris Pasternak novel which was also made into an Oscar-winning 1965 film, will make its debut at New York’s Broadway Theatre next spring (15).
The musical has been in development for nearly eight years, and Jersey Boys director Des McAnuff initially premiered the production in California in 2006, before a reworked version had a run in Sydney, Australia in 2011.
McAnuff will return to helm the new version, which will start previews on 27 March (15).
