Actor Elijah Kelley was detained in California over the weekend (30-31Jul16) for resisting arrest.
The Lee Daniels’ The Butler star reportedly became embroiled in a heated argument with another man following a New Edition concert at the Microsoft Theater on Sunday (31Jul16).
Police were called, but according to TMZ.com, Kelley began arguing with the cops and allegedly grabbed the sleeve of one officer. He was taken into custody for misdemeanour resisting arrest and posted $10,000 (£7,580) bail on Monday (01Aug16).
Representatives for the actor have yet to comment on the incident.
Kelley may have been attending the New Edition show as research for his new role – he is playing singer Ricky Bell in the band’s planned TV biopic.
