TV beauty Ellen Pompeo baffled the media at the Monte Carlo TV Festival last week when she was interviewed separately from her Grey’s Anatomy castmates.
Pompeo‘s spokeswoman Jennifer Allen insists the actress, who plays Meredith Grey in the medical drama, didn’t insist on the separate interview, but the show’s producers, Touchstone Television, did.
Allen tells gossip site PageSix.com, “It was at the request of broadcasters that she interview alone because she is the star of the show.”
Despite Pompeo being declared ‘the star’ of the show, her castmate Sandra Oh has won a series of accolades for her performance as Dr. Christina Yang, including a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and a Golden Globe.
