FAME cast to reunite for charity show

The stars of the 1980s hit Fame TV series are reuniting to perform the show’s hits as part of a benefit concert next month (13Jul17).
Lee Curreri, who played Bruno Martelli in both the television series and the 1980 film, will join Debbie Allen, Jesse Borrego, Cynthia Gibb, and Erica Gimpel, among others for the FAME 35th Anniversary Reunion Concert at the Troubadour in Hollywood on 13 July (17).
The concert will benefit The Actors Fund, the U.S. human services organisation that helps everyone in performing arts and entertainment in times of need, crisis or transition.
A spokesman for the event tells WENN. “This one-night-only celebration of the music and memories that made the series FAME a worldwide phenomenon marks the first U.S. concert by the cast since 1985.
FAME originally premiered on TV in the U.S. on 7 January, 1982. During the show’s six-season run, it won two Golden Globe Awards for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical in 1983 and 1984.
Based on the 1980 film of the same name, the series followed the lives of the students and faculty at New York City’s High School for the Performing Arts.
