Fox’s Announces ‘X Factor,’ ‘Glee,’ ‘Terra Nova’ Fall Premieres

GleeIt’s undeniably therapeutic to find out the exact date and time of all your favorite TV shows’ premieres. Thankfully, Fox is providing us that luxury. They just announced the premiere dates for their returning and brand new Fall shows.

One of this season’s most anticipated newcomers is The X-Factor, a British singing-competition franchise similar to American Idol both in format and in that Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul will reunite as judges, along with songwriter-producer L.A. Reid. Another exciting new program is Terra Nova, a science fiction series about a family from a decaying 2149 A.D. Earth who are transported to prehistoric times so they can help rebuild the world.

Perhaps the most awaited returnee on Fox is Glee, which will sport a new cast of freshman characters, the students we know and love pursuing post-high school lives, and a fresher, more story-oriented approach.

Finally, Fox will broadcast the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards. Nominees will be announced on July 13, giving us two months to get a head start on all the reasons why it must have been award show politics that caused our favorite programs to go home empty-handed.

Staff editor Michael Arbeiter’s natural state of being can best be described as “mild panic attack.” His earliest memories of growing up in Queens, New York, involve nighttime conversations with a voice from his bedroom wall (the jury’s still out on what that was all about) and a love for classic television that spawned from the very first time he was allowed to watch “The Munsters.” Attending college at SUNY Binghamton, a 20-year-old Michael learned two things: that he could center his future on this love for TV and movies, and that dragons never actually existed — he was kind of late in the game on that one.
