Synopsis

A black comedy about the symbiotic relationship formed between a former SS officer, Otto Schatz, and the ghost of a concentration camp inmate, Genghis Cohn, a Jewish comedian Schatz killed at the camp. Schatz, who managed to escape prosecution for Nazi war crimes, is now the police chief of a small Bavarian town in the late 1950s. When Cohn's ghost volunteers to help Schatz solve a series of sex-related murders that have occurred in the town, his revenge is apt: he manages by degrees to turn the police chief into a Yiddish-speaking, chopped-liver loving Jew!
