Synopsis

A story of the generation gap between middle age and old age as seen through the bickering relationship of "Grandpa" Max Sherman, a crusty, caustic Jewish widower, and Paul Sherman, his overly protective son, who treats his father (self-described as "young at heart") like an old man. In the pilot episode, Max, who lives in the modest southern California home of his son, decides to move to a senior citizens home when Paul refuses to let him drive on the freeway.
