Synopsis

Oliver Wendell Douglas, an attorney who yearns to be a farmer, purchases sight unseen a 160-acre farm in the tawdry rural community Hooterville. Despite the objections of his glamorous and sophisticated wife, Lisa, they relinquish their life of luxury in New York City and retreat to a shabby, broken-down, unfurnished nightmare -- Oliver's Green Acres dream. The series follows their misadventures in coping with the numerous trials and tribulations of farming and country living.
