Jason Sudeikis to Join ‘Eastbound & Down’

Jason SudeikisProving to be the hero that we always knew he was, Jason Sudeikis is not shirking his attachment to television acting, despite an influx of movie roles. Sudeikis will play a recurring role in the third season of HBO’s Eastbound & Down, starring Danny McBride. Sudeikis will play Kenny Powers’ (McBride) friend. This season will return Powers and his team to their North Carolina setting.

Aside from co-headlining Horrible Bosses, which opens today, Sudeikis will reunite with (one of) the Farrelly Brothers for an untitled project in which he’ll play Batman. I am already intrigued. He’ll also be starring with Lucy Punch, Leslie Bibb and Martin Starr (who should really be way more famous than he is) in A Good Old Fashioned Orgy, in which a group of longtime friends attempt to accomplish the exactly what is described in the title. A Good Old Fashioned Orgy is set to open September 2.

Staff editor Michael Arbeiter’s natural state of being can best be described as “mild panic attack.” His earliest memories of growing up in Queens, New York, involve nighttime conversations with a voice from his bedroom wall (the jury’s still out on what that was all about) and a love for classic television that spawned from the very first time he was allowed to watch “The Munsters.” Attending college at SUNY Binghamton, a 20-year-old Michael learned two things: that he could center his future on this love for TV and movies, and that dragons never actually existed — he was kind of late in the game on that one.
