Jenna Elfman To Return To ABC With ‘Bad Mom’

Jenna ElfmanJenna Elfman is returning to the network that made her a star.

The actress, who became a household name with her performance in the late ’90s sitcom Dharma and Greg, is returning to ABC for a new television series called Bad Mom — a single-camera comedy centering on Julia, a single mom whose two children were raised by her mother, Marian, until Marian decides to leave to live her own life. The plot will revolve around Julia as she takes responsibility for her children and her life, and the series was created by British writer-actress-comedienne Sharon Horgan.

We’re not quite sure what to expect from Bad Mom. In 2009, Elfman starred in the CBS comedy Accidentally on Purpose where she played a pregnant woman who already had a child and, well, that show wasn’t very good. It was on CBS and it got canceled after one season. Bad Mom seems like it may have a better chance. After all, the creator is British, and British people are always funny, right?
