Can you believe that it has only been three years since the debut of Jersey Shore, the most important sociological experiment of our time? So much has changed since then. We’re all older, some of us are richer, and the GIF of Snooki getting punched in the face started an internet revolution that doesn’t allow any reality television star to do anything even remotely interesting without a moving internet picture being made out of it. I can hardly remember a more innocent time before I met Snooki, JWOWW, The Situation, DJ Paulie D, Vinny, Sammi Sweetheart, Ronnie, Deena, and the awful sea creature known as Trash Bags. It was so long ago, but it was just a blink of an (heavily-made-up) eye (with a fake lash on it). It actually makes me a little sad to see them go. No longer will we laugh at their struggles, marvel at their capacity for alcohol consumption, and learn – yes, learn – from the important lessons that they teach every last one of us. In memoriam of their figurative passing, I’ve compiled a list of the greatest lessons I’ve learned from the show. Don’t worry, there are videos and GIFs to go along with it. Because, if anything, our favorite guidos would want us to laugh at their clumsiness one more time.
