Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert Are Taking Over Election Night

Forget CNN, MSNBC, and FoxNews. On this election night we’re watching the only network that tackle the real hard-hitting issues: making us laugh. Get excited Comedy Central fans because on November 6, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report will be broadcasting live on both the east and west coasts. has just confirmed that the two champions of (fake) late-night news will each host their own live half-hour election episodes airing back-to-back. First up The Daily Show with Jon Stewart presents “Election Night 2012: This Ends Now” will air 11:00-11:30 PM ET (8:00-8:30 PM PT). Stewart and “The Best F#@king News Team Ever” will feature news and results analysis with reporting rirectly from the show’s on-set Obama and Romney headquarters and election center.

Following right after will be The Colbert Report presenting “Election 2012: A Nation Votes, Ohio Decides; The Re-Presidenting of America: Who Will Replace Obama? ‘012!” airing from 11:30-midnight PM ET (8:30-9:30 PM PT). (Side-note: That’s the greatest title we’ve ever seen!) Colbert will host and share his “patriotic fervor and insightful conjecture” with a special guest appearance by Andrew Sullivan.

New Yorkers can also catch the two shows on MTV’s 44½ JumboTron in the heart of Times Square and for the vey first time fans will be able to view the live episodes through a multi-platform streaming experience on, iOS, and Android enabled devices and through The Daily Show Headlines App. Wow they’re going to be all over the place, and we love it!

This is the sixth time—first beginning in 1992— that Comedy Central’s presidential coverage has gone live on election night. In the last presidential race, Stewart and Colbert joined forces for “Indecision 2008: America’s Choice” however this marks the first time that the late night hosts will be anchoring separately from their own studios.
