Remember last fall when that image of Kanye West auditioning for the farewell season of American Idol was all around the internet? Well, we finally have a video to go along with that image. Despite the hoopla surrounding his personal life, it’s no secret that the producer/rapper is mega -talented. After all he did give us My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and North West. However, all the talent and super-stardom in the world doesn’t mean you can impress the Idol judges. So how did Mr. West do?
As someone who has shunned the media in many ways over the past several years, it was fun to see a more playful side of the mogul in his audition. West chose the Yezzy classic, “Gold Digger” to audition with, because it shouted out Idol judge Jennifer Lopez in the chorus. He also brought along his prego wifey Kim Kardashian for support. The socialite spoke to Ryan Seacrest about watching her hubby audition saying, “I’m not really nervous because I do really believe in him. I didn’t give any advice on singing, rapping. I just really believe in him.” Obviously, the Chicago-born rapper was quickly given a golden ticket to Hollywood.
