Katherine Alexander’s ex Jesus Salas in the clear over rape allegations

Latin pop star Katherine Alexander’s ex-boyfriend, radio executive Jesus Salas, will not face charges over allegations of rape or threatening behaviour due to a lack of evidence. Police in Miami, Florida launched an investigation into the accusations against Salas earlier this year (14), when Alexander claimed she had been subjected to the allegedly abusive behaviour after their romance turned sour.
The singer also maintained Salas had threatened to shoot her and her family during one particularly explosive argument.
She subsequently filed a civil suit against him and obtained a restraining order, banning him from going anywhere near her.
However, the Miami State Attorney has since decided not to pursue legal action against Salas.
According to court papers dated 12 November (14), and obtained by Billboard.com, the official ruled there were “copious amounts of evidence supporting (Salas’) account of events” to conclude that “the State would not be able to satisfy its burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt”.
A civil lawsuit Alexander filed against Salas is still ongoing.
