“Kingdom Come” Premiere

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Apr. 4, 2001 — Take Soul Food, add a funeral and a bag of laughter, and you’ll have something close to Kingdom Come, a new comedy from Fox Searchlight Pictures.

Starring LL Cool J, Jada Pinkett Smith and Whoopi Goldberg, Kingdom Come follows a dysfunctional family who must come together when their patriarch passes away. The all-star cast also includes Vivica A. Fox, Loretta Devine, Cedric the Entertainer, Anthony Anderson, Darius McCrary and singer Toni Braxton in her screen debut.

Stars such as Nia Long, Gabrielle Union, Jasmine Guy, Holly Robinson-Peete and Theresa Randle came to support their friends in the film. A nervous Braxton brought her fiancé to see the film for the first time, while Pinkett Smith brought husband Will and new baby Willow for the occasion.
