British singer-songwriter Labrinth is to release his powerful score for HBO’s hit series Euphoria next month (October 2019).
The star worked on the project alongside Sam Levinson, writer of the U.S. teen drama series, and the project marks Labrinth’s first-ever billing as lead composer.
The album will comprise 26 tracks, and features the collected music from the show’s first season, which aired earlier this year.
Speaking about the project, the star, real name Timothy Lee McKenzie, said: “My experience with Euphoria has made me a better musician.
“It was a dream come true to give wings and add magic to the different storylines,” he reflected. “It was a collaborative effort among Sam Levinson, the crew and the cast – I only added texture to an already phenomenal show. I hope that anyone who listens to the music embraces feeling something.”
The series, which boasts Drake as executive producer and stars Zendaya, follows a group of teenagers as they navigate high school and the world of drugs, sex and social media. A second season is currently in the works.
Euphoria: Season 1 (Music from the Original Series) drops October 4th, 2019.
