Synopsis

In this latest filming of the famed weeper (the seventh version), Tuesday Weld -- who replaced Susan Blakely -- is the woman who had married into a prominent family and subsequently is forced by her mother-in-law (Eleanor Parker) to abandon her beloved husband and daughter to protect them from shame, only to be reunited with the now-grown girl many years later in a dramatic twist in the courtroom. Comedian Jerry Stiller provided some off-beat casting as a sinister blackmailer. Hairstylist Shirley Padgett won an Emmy Award for her work.
