Disgraced funnyman Michael Richards has jetted off on a spiritual journey to Cambodia in an effort to save his career.
The former Seinfeld star hit the headlines last year when a racist rant he delivered during a stand-up show at a comedy club in Hollywood was caught on a camera phone and distributed to the media.
Richards made a public apology to the audience members he offended but has admitted the incident and repercussions have taken a heavy toll on him.
According to entertainment news show Access Hollywood, the comedian is visiting remote temples in Cambodia, following the teachings of a Hindu monk.
In a recent Los Angeles Times interview, the comic admitted he has lost his sense of humor, adding, “I’m taking time off to feel myself out, get to know myself and appreciate other people.”
