Synopsis

In May 2000, the space shuttle Atlantis launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida with mission commander Jim Halsell and his Russian-American crew aboard. After 18 months of training and the work of thousands of NASA staff, the construction of the International Space Station 140 miles above the Earth was to continue. But the mission suffered more delays, frustrations and crew changes than any previous mission in NASA history.
