Synopsis

In order to build up into the skyline, mankind needs machines that can lift materials higher and higher. The program covers some of the most popular and powerful lifters in the world. Rough Terrain Cranes are mobile machines capable of lifting heavy machinery in the middle of nowhere. The show also takes a look at the tallest of all the mobile cranes, the Demag AC-650 crane, which can lift materials 476 feet into the air. For some monster lifters, like cargo cranes, speed counts more than height. At the Port of Long Beach, in California, cranes must be able to unload and reload 6600 containers from a ship in less than three days.
