Murder Without Conviction
Former nun Christine Bennett has moved to the suburbs to live in her deceased aunt's home after finishing a fifteen year service to the lord, looking to now discover a different side to the world beyond the convent's walls. When she learns that a local institutional facility which houses her cousin, Gene, will soon be the new home of James Talley, a once gifted young man who, along with his twin brother, the equally-gifted Edward, was alleged to have murdered their mother thirty years ago, her curiosity is piqued by the uproar at hand that has the town fuming. Curious as to what drove these young men to possibly commit such an act of violence, Christine sets out on a new quest for answers. Enlisting the help of Detective Jack Brooks, Christine finds many people such as the maid and the boy's absent father all serving as disparate pieces of the puzzle. She also finds herself in danger from someone who doesn't want her to know the answers she seeks. As James and Edward were separated in different institutions, Christine decides the only way to solve the mystery and end the madness swirling around her is to bring the brothers back together and relive their terrifying secrets.
