My Mother Was Never a Kid
Victoria Martin, a teenager with a knack for finding trouble, believes no one understands her, especially her super-perfect mother who Victoria contends was never a kid. One day, when she is sent home from school for smoking, Victoria has an argument with her mother Felicia, and storms out of the house. While riding a train to a friend's house, she falls and hits her head, and wakes up in the 1940s.
After leaving the station, she meets and befriends a girl her own age named Cici. Cici turns out to be much like Victoria, always in trouble, and complaining that adults don't understand her. Victoria soon learns that Cici is actually the girl who grows up to be her mother. After being sent back to the present, Victoria gains new insight into her own mother.
