New ‘Homeland’ Trailer: How Dangerous Is A Role Reversal? — VIDEO

Homeland Claire DanesThe big question to plague the cast of Homeland this season? “What happens when your country forgets you?” And it looks as though we have two sides of that coin to deal with this season, as the role reversal of Sgt. Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) and ousted CIA agent Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) takes center stage in this trailer.

Unlike the shorter clips of earlier this summer, we get a solid 45 seconds out of this teasing clip, that focuses on how much has changed for Mathison and Brody. Mathison–once an insider–is nothing more than a fallen civilian. Brody–once a prisoner of war who was forgotten himself–has been elected to public office. The voiceover speaks to both of the character’s current–and previous–situations these two faced: Mathison’s new position after her harrowing electroconvulsive therapy, and of course the truth about Brody’s past allegiances and seeming flip-flopping. Al-Qaeda what?

The upcoming season of the show looks to (hopefully!) piece together the life Mathison is living after undergoing the shock therapy to deal with her bipolar disorder (and maybe all the other things troubling her mind). Of course, as is the norm with Homeland, nothing really stays or seems to be what it is for very long, so check out the clip below and decide for yourself.
