On Hostile Ground | 1999
After a New Orleans worker is killed in a tunnel collapse and a woman's car plummets into a sinkhole that opens up in a parking lot, city official Allison Beauchamp calls upon her fiance, geologist Matt Andrews to investigate. What he finds does not bode well for the city of New Orleans, which lies completely below sea level. An underground fire has eaten away the layer of ground below the surface, leaving behind vast caverns that could collapse at any moment. As disaster looms, Matt must find a way to stop the ground from caving in. To add to the city's woes, the disaster strikes in the middle of the annual Mardi Gras celebration.
