Oscar Night Replay: About That Epic ‘Revenge’ Promo…

Revenge ABCRevenge is ABC’s latest offering for melodrama addicts and critics alike. None of us can get enough of Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) and her insatiable desire for revenge, and last night’s epic promo during the Oscars did little to calm our excitement. We can now replay the salacious scenes, narrated by VanCamp and teasing the incredibly twists and turns to come.

But the promo does double work; it not only riles up die-hard fans, but it sets the scene for those TV audiences who’ve yet to dip their toes into the Hamptons-set drama. The scene: Emily is out for revenge. Check. She’s got a foe: Victoria Grayson. Check. A friend with a rocky relationship: Jack Porter. Check. A fiance with guilt on his face and blood on his hands: Daniel Grayson. Giant check. And whole mess of other complications.
The promo delivers no real spoilers other than that the drama can only go up from here, but that’s enough for us. Revenge is so much sweeter when it’s a complete shock.
Revenge returns with new episodes Wednesday, Feb. 29 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

Celebrity Editor Kelsea Stahler was born in a pile of dirt. Okay, she was actually born in an old Naval hospital in San Diego, which then became a pile of dirt and remained as such for a number of years before becoming a parking lot perfectly sized for circus tents, and finally a museum. She eventually left San Diego to attend New York University, where she studied Journalism and English literature — two less-than profitable liberal arts degrees about which guidance counselors warned her. Against all odds, she now resides in Brooklyn, where she fights the constant fear that the locals will soon discover she isn’t quite cool enough to live there, and makes a living writing absurd, pop culture features about Batman, zombies, vampires, funny people, and Ron Swanson.
