Synopsis

The story of Alan Ozley, an artist for the Essex, Connecticut, "Register," a conservative, small-town newspaper, who dreams of becoming the political cartoonist. The program combines live-action with animation. Alan's thoughts and fantasies come to vivid life for him and the viewer through the use of animation.

In the pilot episode, Alan believes he finally has a chance to convince his boss to publish his cartoons--until his fellow workers learn about his overnight date with Debbie, the boss's beautiful daughter, and threaten to expose him to the boss, who opposes fellow workers dating--especially when it's his daughter.
