I know a romantic resolution like an engagement is always a source of melodramatic mushiness and unstoppable waves of “Ah-AWWWW!” from the most girly viewers, but the thing I love about Revenge is that we all know this stupidly perfect proposal will just open the door to all kinds of trouble. We know for sure it will stir up at least a little something since we saw the tragic events of Emily and Daniel’s engagement party in the pilot. We can bet, however, that by the time we get there, nothing will be as it seemed upon that first viewing – it’s what this show does best!
The photos at hand show Daniel (Josh Bowman) and Emily (Emily VanCamp) on a yacht where Daniel gets down on one knee just as the rain starts to fall. And if years of melodrama have taught us anything, a proposal this romantic has to be doomed. Besides, we’re all hoping she manages to end up with Jack (Nick Wechsler) at some point, right?
Everyone’s favorite over-the-top primetime drama returns Jan. 18 at 10 p.m. on ABC. We can’t hardly wait, how are you holding up?
