showtime

Last night, a handful of shows, movies and actors were deemed victorious at the 70th Annual Golden Globes, but no one took away more trophies than the men and women of Showtime. Winning the most awards in its GG history, Showtime also snagged the most series wins of any network.

And it looks like people must have wanted to see what all the well-deserved hype was about. Following the Golden Globes, the premium cable network’s Sunday night lineup returned with its highest-rated episodes ever. According to a Showtime press release, Shameless, House of Lies, and Californication were each “up double digits versus their series averages and besting their prior season premieres and season finales.”

Rounding out the trio was David Duchovny with his dramedy Californication — the Season 6 premiere gathered 1.3 million viewers, up 39 percent from its Season 5 averages.
