Though we were all devastated when Nina Dobrev decided to leave The Vampire Diaries, we knew that the show could continue to be just as epic as it’s always been. For the last few seasons, Candice King‘s character Caroline Forbes has been the best part of TVD, so we knew that the show would not be lacking in badass female characters. Here are 12 reasons why Caroline Forbes continues to slay as the best character on The Vampire Diaries.
1. Caroline’s character development is bananas!
Seriously though, remember in the first season when she was this annoying cheerleader who thought that life revolved around her? Caroline even became Damon’s human blood bag for a time. Luckily, after being turned into a bas ass vamp, she started kicking ass and taking names.
2. She’s a ride or die for her friends.
Remember when Caroline stayed with Tyler during his first werewolf transformation even though it was scary AF?. Not only is she always there for her friends when they need her, she expects the exact same treatment in return. She gives just as hard as she gets.
3. She’s not afraid to own up to her bullshit.
Seriously, in the first couple of seasons of TVD, Caroline was freaking annoying! She knows her flaws and she’s not afraid to admit that she’s trying to do better.
4. She won’t let herself be tempted by naughty boys…mostly.
Even when those bad boys are the sinfully delectable hybrid vamp Klaus Mikaelson. THE WOMAN HAS WILLPOWER.
5. The guys she does allow herself to tempted by are HOTTIES.
Matt, Enzo, Stefan, Tyler…Get it girl!
6. She knows just how far she can push herself.
Unlike Stefan who has major issues with controlling his blood-lust, Caroline knows her limits and she sticks to them, the majority of the time.
7. She threw Damon out of a window.
We adore the blue-eyed Salvatore but, that was just amaze balls.
8. She does not give AF.
Other people’s opinions of her are none of her business, which is something we can all learn from.
9. Home girl is hilarious!
Caroline has no filter and she will blurt out whatever she wants and it’s almost always guaranteed to make you LOL.
10. She still adores food even though it’s not necessary.
FOOD OVER EVERYTHING!!!
11. She can hold her liquor.
Caroline isn’t one of those obnoxious friends who gets too drunk and needs to be taken care of.
12. Basically she’s our BFF in our head.
