Forget about The Walking Dead! Liv Moore is the baddest zombie in town. iZombie focuses on Liv (Rose McIver), a young zombie who inherits memories and personalities from the brains she eats. She uses these skills to solve murder mysteries and shares a lot in common with another blonde heroine we love. There are plenty of reasons why you should be watching this underrated CW series. But for now, we’ll focus on 12.
1. The show is littered with pop culture references.

Liv’s relationship with hottie Major Lilywhite (Robert Buckley) is enough to keep you hooked!
3. Ravi Chakrabati (Rahul Kohli) and Liv are hilarious as work colleagues and BFFs.

Much like Veronica Mars and Wallace Fennel, Liv and Ravi show that men and women can have a purely platonic relationship.
4. Even though she’s a zombie, Liv still functions like an average human. This is NOT The Walking Dead!

And it’s weird to think about, but doesn’t she make brains look delicious?
5. However, it is totally awesome when she goes into “zombie mode.”

6. Sometimes, you will catch a glimpse of a full-blown zombie!

In the iZombie universe, a zombie will end up like these “Romeros” (as they are sometimes referred) if they don’t eat enough brains.
7. The opening theme song and many other moments pay homage to the Vertigo comics by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred.

8. You’ll never know what Liv will do next.

Like Veronica Mars, iZombie features a “case of the week” structure while simultaneously following a season-long arc. Since Liv has to eat a different person’s brain each week, you’ll always be on your toes, wondering which personality she will take on. This is what she did to Ravi after eating a frat boy’s brain.
9. It has its fair share of sexy moments.

Also, Liv cannot have sex with a human unless she wants to turn him into a zombie too. That’s a lot of tension to hold in!
10. Blaine DeBeers (David Anders) is a malicious, yet likable villain.

Like any good villain, Blaine has a relatable back story that will make you confused whether you should hate him or love to hate him.
11. It features smart writing from the same minds behind Veronica Mars, Diane Ruggiero and Rob Thomas.

12. And that makes sense because they managed to write another likable, spunky heroine.

It’s about time!
