Synopsis

Telefilm depicting story from the book "Rescuers: Portraits of Moral Courage in the Holocaust," involving the courageous efforts of non-Jews who risked their lives to rescue victims of the Holocaust. Explores how two very different couples find the courage not only to do what is right, but to save and maintain their love in the process. The marriage and family of simple farmer Aart and wife Johtje Vos is tested when they harbor escaped Jews during World War II in the Netherlands, In "Marie Taquet," former army commandant Emile and his pragmatic wife Marie rekindle their loveless marriage when they hide several Jewish children at their boarding school.
