Synopsis

A retelling of the classic Washington Irving story, "Rip Van Winkle." Once upon a time. Vanna Van, a woman who sings lovely songs, marries rock musician Rip Winkle and settles into what is supposed to be a life of wedded bliss. However, between Rip's rigid views of gender roles and the demands of housework and their baby, Rip Jr., Vanna's music falls by the wayside. Vanna sets out to rediscover her voice and finds The Women of Thunder Mountain, a group of free thinkers who promote equal opportunity for women. The women help Vanna regain her voice and give her a potion to take care of Rip's chauvinistic ways. When confronted again by Rip's narrow views, Vanna gives him the potion, which causes him to sleep 20 years. When Rip finally awakens, he sees a new world. Vanna is running her own business; a woman is President of the United States; and women occupy other jobs once held exclusively by men. And Rip's son, Rip Van Winkle Jr., is taking care of his own child, Little Vanna.
