Synopsis

A six-part series in the continuing adventures of London barrister, Horace Rumpole. In "Rumpole at Sea," Rumpole solves the mystery of a passenger who has disappeared while on an Adriatic cruise. In "Rumpole and the Summer of Discontent," Rumpole defends a union leader accused of murder during a strike. Rumpole defends a restaurant owner when a mouse appears in one of London's priciest French restaurants ("Rumpole a la Carte"). Rumpole defends a flashy blond charged with dangerous driving and a doctor charged with assaulting a female patient in "Rumpole and the Quacks." The barrister goes against the principles of a lifetime in "Rumpole for the Prosecution" when he agrees to prosecute a murder suspect. In "Rumpole and the Right to Silence," the barrister defends a professor who refuses to talk when accused of murdering his school's vice chancellor.
